Just be kind

We often hear people say that we always need to be kind to others, or better yet, you need to be kind to others because you don't know them. We should be kind to others no matter who they are because you aren't better than anyone. I always say to people and myself to always be kind. Just be kind.

But why do we forget ourselves when it comes to kindness? You see you will always be your own worst critic and while you are being kind to others, you forget that you also need kindness shown to you. We judge ourselves more than we judge others. We take more care of other peoples feelings than we do for our own. We treat others with respect but we treat ourselves disrespectfully. We help to heal others but we forget that we also need healing. We tend to others needs before we take care of our own. We forgive others but we struggle to forgive ourselves. We give to others but we sell ourselves short. We love others, but we don't love ourselves.

You see how are we suppose to give to others if we can't give to ourselves. There is this saying "that charity begins at home" You are your home, so it will always start with you. No matter our faults and flaws, our sins and shames, our past and present, our failures and successes, We need to pay more attention to ourselves, so that we can know that we too need to show kindness to ourselves every once in a while.

You see, we too get tired, we too have troubles and problems. We also have good and bad days and it is okey not to be okey. It's okey to forgive and love ourselves. It's okey to sometimes take care of your own needs before another. It's okey to rest when needed and it's okey to say no to others when you don't have the mental, emotional or physical capacity to do so.

We are also just human and we deserve kindness too.

So moral of the story is..... Be kind to yourself, sometimes you need it more than others.
