Love a fairytale

paint in perfect colors

colors of hope, joy and peace

Colors of upliftment

Colors of support and understanding.

But what is love is not a rainbow

What if love is black and white

and we just want to paint a different picture

What if love is good and bad

sad and happy

laughter and tears

building up and breaking down

hurt and healing

What if love is not as perfect as we proclaim it to be

but rather just as flawed as we are

For how can something perfect, embody something imperfect.

We have put love on a high pedestal

Where no one can reach it and then we blame love for failing.

For every high there must be a low

for every yes there must be a no

for every truth there is lies

and for each one living, someone dies

You see love is not perfect it is messy

It is not a fairytale but reality.
